Introduction
NAMIS is an international research network on Nano and Micro Systems founded in November 2005 which now gathers 12 partners from 10 countries and 3 continents.(more information on http://namis.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp). Since its creation, the NAMIS network organized 15 workshops in Europe (Finland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, The Netherlands), in Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam) and in America (Canada, USA). In 2017, the 15th NAMIS workshop was successfully organized by Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) and CNRS in Daejon city, South Korea.(More information …).
The NAMIS network is pleased to invite you to participate to the 16th NAMIS workshop, which will be held in Oulu city (Finland) from June the 18 to June the 20, 2018.
This workshop will be jointly organized by VTT Oulu technical research center of Finland and CNRS. It will be an opportunity to present the latest results of research performed in VTT and in some other Finnnish labs and by NAMIS partners in the field of Nano and Micro Systems.

Venue and acces by bus or taxi
The workshop will be organized in Oulu, a city located in the north-east coast of Botnie Gulf of Finland, 450 km north from of Helsinki. The venue will be Oulu VTT Technical Research center of Finland which is 10-15 min taxi drive from city center (Cost around 18 €)

Bus transports are organized from Scandic hotel and VTT go and back every day of the workshop. So if you are staying at other hotel and want to join transportation, Â please come to the front of Scandic hotel, Saaristonkatu 4. (Oulu is a relatively small city.)

In case you cannot catch this bus, you can go from city center to VTT by taxi (cost about 20 €) or take bus N° 8,3, 2, 1 or 23 direction north and stop at bus stop Palloiluhalli E close to University of Oulo. VTT is about 300 m west from this stop. We expect to add soon a map.
If you come by car, parking places are available for visitors in front of the main entrance of VTT at Kaitoväylâ.
Transportation from/to Oulu airport
Oulu Aiport is a domestic airport linked to Helsinki-Vantaa airport (a dozen of flights every day) and to other Finnish cities. Helsinki-Vantaa is the main international airport of Finland.
By train:
Oulu can also be reached by train from Helsinky but the trip is 6 hours long.
From Oulu airport to Oulu city center:
There are regular bus connections between the Oulu city center and the airport. The buses 8, 9 and 56 drive through Teknologiakyla and Heikinharju. Bus Time table: Link (Note that bus schedule for summer time will start in June).
