Dear NAMIS members,
Following the 8th NAMIS school held in 2014 in Hsinchu (Taiwan), It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 9th NAMIS school that will take place for the first time in Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada. We look forward to meeting PhD students, Post-docs, Young researchers and lecturers of NAMIS network from all around the world..
Some twenty high level lectures as well as laboratory works are being prepared.
Except transportation cost from your home country to the school, hotel, lunches and some dinnerswill be provided to students during the school. This may be summarized as follows:
- Airfare+ travel expenses between athe airport and the school location will be paid by the home laboratory of the attendees.
- Accommodation in campus will be offered from sunday June the 28th evening (check-in) to Saturday, July the 4th in the morning (check-out).
- Lunches will be provided free of charge from Monday June the 29th to Friday July the 3rd. Dinners will be provided for free by NAMIS school Monday and Wednesday. Other dinners will be on your on expenses.
- Polytechnique de Montréal will be responsible for lectures, practical works and visits.
Lecturers will be provided the same meals as participants but they will have to pay for their accommodation.
We recommend to future participants of the 9th NAMIS summer school 2015 to read carefully the following information.
Important information for all attendees
From Monday June the 29th to Friday evening July the 3 rd, 2015.
Accommodation provided from June the 28th in the evening (Check-in)-July the 4th morning (check-out).

Remark: During the social event time slot and in the evenings without dinners organized by the NAMIS school, attendees will be able to enjoy the international jazz festival of Montreal . More info here.
NAMIS school 2015 Registration
Registration of participants to the NAMIS school 2015 is closed. Late registrations might be accepted under very special conditions. A certificate of attendance will be provided to participants attending all school.activities .In case you have special requirement for this certificate, please let us know by sending an e-mail to Mrs Noriko Fujioka (noriko-f[a]iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp).
NAMIS school will be held in the campus of Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal. More precisely, Lectures will take place in Amphitheatre du Pavillon J.-A Bombardier, room 1035 (Building N°4 on http://www.polymtl.ca/rensgen/en/coordonnees/campus.php
Pierre-Elliot Trudeau International Airport Montreal To/from city center and campus
Bus 747 is available every day, 24hours a day, from the airport and Montreal bus station (subway Berri-UQAM).. Bus ride is 45-60 min long according to traffic.
Cost is 10 canadian $.

Note for the lecturers
As in previous NAMIS schools, we expect the lecturers to provide files of their lecture slides.
Lectures should be designed for attendees having variable background and expertise in the field of Nano and Microsystems.
An ftp site will be available soon for uploading the lectures before the school. We highly recommend to do so in order to be able to print them for students.
After the school all lecture slideswill be uploaded on a login and password protected page of the NAMIS website (http://namis.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp). Login and password will be provided to school attendees as well as to main contact person of all NAMIS partners. Login and password will also be provided to other NAMIS members on request (contact NAMIS network coordinator e-mail : alain.bosseboeuf[a]u-psud.fr).
All attendees are requested as soon as possible to check with their Canadian local embassy or consulate the visa requirements for their nationality and do the requested formalities. An official invitation letter and an accommodation booking certificate will be sent to registered students and lecturers who need them..
Take care that if your fligh is making a stop to USA you will need a Travel Authorization. This can be otained at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/
Mandatory tasks for NAMIS school attendees
Before the school, all attendees (except lecturers) are requested to prepare a poster (A0 size 118.9 cmx84.1 cm portrait shape) on their research work as well as a 2min flash presentation. For the 2 minutes presentation, please prepare 2slides in lanscape shape with the followng size in Powerpoint: Width: 25.4 cm Height:19.05 cm and convert it in Pdf format. These slides should include information about the attendee and a summary of its poster.
You will have to upload the files of your poster and of your flash presentation befote the school. For this you should have received an invitation from Alfresco Polytechnique Montréal for NAMIS school. You must click on the link to accept this invitation. The attendees must bring at the NAMIS school a printed version of their poster (A0 format portrait shape).
Awards will be delivered to the best posters.
This will be a summer school with frienly atmosphere, so casual wear is appropriate. (Suit and ties are not requested).

Accommodation during the school
Polytechnique de Montréal will be in charge of the accomodation expenses for attendees Make sure you return the keys!!. For arrival before June the 28th and/or departures after Juy the 4th, attendees will have to book and pay extra accommodation by themselves. In other words, NAMIS school will not cover your accommodation before June the 29th and after July the 4th.
Accomodation of attendees wiil in in studioshotel (www.studioshotel.ca). 15 doubles rooms with twin beds (FLEXO) and 20 single room (SOLO) have been booked. Double rooms will have to be shared. Please tell us if you wish a single room in the registration form.
