The Institute for Engineering and Systems Sciences (INSIS) is a division of the french National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the largest government-funded fundamental research organization in Europe. Research activity performed in institutes and laboratories supervised by CNRS/INSIS covers the whole field of Micro/Nano technologies and Micro/Nano systems. This research takes benefit of a network of open technological facilities supported by the national Agency of Research and the ministry of research. The 6 main national technological centers, with state of the art processing/characterization tools and know-how, are located in IEMN (Lille), LAAS (Toulouse), IEF & LPN (near Paris), FEMTO-ST (Besancon) and FMNT-DRFMC (Grenoble). Specialized clean rooms are also available in other CNRS/INSIS NAMIS Institutes.
